So you don't gain that much by using this Wide lens, given that you'll need to crop a good 1/5 of your image. But when you zoom in, you get the same issue as the Telephoto lens - the HF10 simply will not focus unless you go manual. Image quality is ok when zoomed, unlike the Telephoto converter. Oh, and when unzoomed, you can still see the housing of the lens. At Wide Zoom, it works like a charm.
